Selecting a Cross Roller Bearing
It's widely acknowledged that crossed roller bearing has more advantages than common slewing ring bearings. But there are many different kinds of cross roller bearings, how can we choose the most suitable one for our equipments?
Below are four major factors we need to consider:

Inner ring rotation or outer ring rotation?
- integrated inner ring with split outer ring type (like THK RA/RB, IKO CRB)
- split inner ring with integrated outer ring type(such as THK RE)
- integrated inner and outer ring type(like THK RU, IKO CRBF/CRBH)
To determin cross roller bearings' structure, need to confirm the rotation part of the mechanism is installed on
the inner ring or outer ring of the bearing. If it's outer ring rotation, then need to choose the split inner ring with integrated outer ring type, and similarly, split outer ring with integrated inner ring type is for inner ring rotation. If both inner ring and outer ring need to rotate, then the integrated inner and outer ring type will be the best choice.

Loading Capacity. It's necessary to know the designed loading capacity requirements, so we can choose the suitable bearing which can withstand the loads applied by the equipments.

- Rigidity - Clearance, Rigidity of the housing section

Accuracy - Accuracy grade. The accuracy and clearance are the key factors of crossed roller bearings. The positive/negative clearance of the bearing can affect bearings rigidity, noise, service life and rotation speed.

Mounting - One type is like a common slewing bearing, with mounting holes on both inner ring and outer ring, which can be installed on the equiment easily by bolt connecting. Another bearing type is without mounting holes, in this case, a bearing house or flange will be needed during installation
